What I am trying to find out with this post is exactly what you want from the redundancy site and what format you want it to take?

The thing is, I have access to thousands of dollars worth of training in the form of e-books, videos and audio, and as we all know, everyone has a different learning style, be it watching and doing, reading and doing or a combination, so this is to find out how you want the new site to be designed.

Although I have my own ideas, I will read every single comment that is left below and the 3 people who enter the best suggestions, in my opinion, will get to Beta test the new site and assist in the development, as well as full access to all of the levels available on the site.

Now this sounds very grand and a fantastic prize, but the monetary value is probably a lot less than the chance to be involved in the build of a membership site at a very early stage in your internet marketing career.

You see, my philosophy is that there is a very large group of highly intelligent, highly motivated and ambitious people hopefully looking at this now and I want to be the first to tap into that potential, so as you can see, it is a win win for both of us.

I have spent the last 6 months of my life studying the fine art of Search Engine Optimization, which in effect, is getting Google to find your site and love it more than anyone else.

The interesting thing about tis is that it can allow you to develop multiple income streams by not only doing work on your own sites but doing work on sites for clients who will pay you to do the work.

This is only one small part of the internet jigsaw which I am hoping to put together for you with membership of the new site, but as you can see, there are multiple options to explore, and as the first post said, sometimes the answer is staring you in the face and you just don’t know it. (If you didn’t read the first post, access it here.)

Don’t be shy with the comments and let’s see if we can get some momentum going and I look forward to reading them.

To keep up to date with the progress of the new site, please put you email address in the box to the right of this post and I will send you some goodies to be getting on with.

Don’t forget, this is not a race but an opportunity to build a long term business.

Why I think there is such a threat of redundancy for so many people.

If this is your first visit to the redundancy site,I would like you to visit the first post just to give you the lowdown to why this is being set up. FIRST POST HERE.

Better late than never, as some people say, but I was reading the appointments section of the Sunday Times this morning and there was a particular position which caught my eye.

The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, within the British government are looking for members of the Industrial Development Advisory Board.

The position is to have a 90 minute meeting every month to advise the British government on large commercial investment projects.

The candidates should have board level experience in industry, banking, accounting and finance and will have demonstrated the capacity to make strategic judgements on commercial, industrial and economic matters beyond their immediate business or profession.

Now you can call me cynical if you want too but I feel this will strike a chord with anyone reading this, but aren’t these the same captains of industry and ultra smart financial people, particularly the bankers, that have actually put us into this dreadful mess that is ruining lives every day?

How many of these people are facing uncertain financial futures because of the actions they took to line their own pockets and inflate their pension pots and bonus payouts at the expense of you or I?

How many of these face the threat of redundancy and ruin?

I need to be very careful as to what I say here because I would hate the wrath of some of these people to come down on me, but how many of you are facing being laid off because of the selfish acts of a board of senior managers who have their and shareholders pockets to line regardless of human cost, and these are the very people the governments want to advise them.

You need to be a particular breed of person to be on the board of a large company and a part of that make up tends, in my opinion, not to worry about the human cost of decisions just the financial justification.

If governments are using these types of people to run the country instead of listening to the very people who vote them in then is it any wonder the world finds itself in the position it is now?

Anyway, back to life after redundancy.

It sometimes feels quite good to have a place to express your opinions and particularly if it is something you feel quite passionate about, even though you are not expert.

That’s the beauty about setting up a business on the interett if you want too.

Even though you may not think you are an expert in any field, you will know a lot more about something than many other people out there, and a lot of these people are looking to learn.

If you have a particular hobby or interest, even if it the most obscure thing you have ever heard of, there will be somebody out there looking to learn from you and willing to pay.

There will always be someone prepared to pay to advertise on your site if it is of particular interest to people who are passionate, and that is what I am saying you can do it, and it doesn’t need to cost a lot of money to start up.

Remember, the internet is Global, not just a local medium, so the reach of your interest is massive.

The best thing about setting up a business on the internet after redundancy is that you can actually do it whilst you are looking for another job, and if it takes off, you can just either do it to supplement your income or, if you are making decent money, not bother getting a job at all.

You probably have everything you need to physically do it but the fear comes from the unknown and that is why it is important to have someone to be able to lean on when you are in that dark place.

The new member site that I am planning will help you to get over that, and as I said, I am not a guru but someone who understands where you are at the moment.

Make your redundancy pay and subscribe for the latest updates and when the new site launches, you will be the first to know.

How will redundancy site work?

If this is your first visit to the redundancy site,I would like you to visit the first post just to give you the lowdown to why this is being set up. FIRST POST HERE.

The thing is, over the last few months I have invested in courses and systems to try and further my internet marketing business, but some of them are not all they are cracked up to be.

Although I would love to share some of my views on this blog, it would actually be counter productive to say what I have to say about some of the products I have tried, so I am intending to set up a member site so that the community can be allowed to grow while I can keep a track on who wants to join.

A lot of the products I have bought are PLR items (private label rights) and MRR (master resell rights), which means the products can be sold by either myself or I can pass on some of the rights to people who will be a member of the site.

If you look at how much it costs to be a memeber of the monthly content and PLR sites, it adds upto quite a lot of money, so the intention is to set this up as part of the membership.

I am currently going through a lot of the licenses to see if they need to be a part of a paid site or it can be free, however, as you are about to become or have already been laid off, the costs will be the absolute minimum they can be to maintain the business for everyone, but whatever happens, there will b a free section of the redundancy site so you can read the reviews in all of their gory details.

So why is the redundancy site different?

The major difference is that the redundancy site is being set up to save you money.

If I could go back six months and find something like this, I would be a whole lot better off financially and probably have been making money online a lot quicker.

The major questions with PLR and MRR is what do I do with it?

That will be one of the questions answered inside.

Which are the best affiliate offers to promote?

Again, we will answer this in the redundancy member site.

Internet marketing is actually quite simple but at the start, it can seem like a maze with no exit and the feeling of being on your own is terrible, but that is what the redundancy site is trying to solve for you.

I am trying to build a community of like minded people who have or haven’t been laid off so no one ever feels like there is nowhere to turn.

How much will paid membership to the redundancy site be?

At this moment in time, I can’t answer that question because some of the licenses have different levels of price for membership site costs, but trust me, it will be as inexpensive as I can make it.

If you are reading this in the UK, you have to understand that everything in the Internet Marketing world is priced in dollars, so to be in with everyone else, this site will also be priced in dollars and I am trying to get the price to around $15 per month for the paid section.

If you have done anything in the IM world since your redundancy, you will see that I have just broken a cardinal rule of IM and told you the price before a sales page or a squeeze page (if you don’t understand these, don’t worry, you will when you join the free section of the redundancy site), and there isn’t an upsell in sight.

The reason for this is that what you see is what you will get on here.

If I am promoting an affiliat offer in the member site, you will be offered a discount which will become payable when the full payment has been paid from either Clickbank or Paypal etc. have been paid, so you could save your membership fee just in that alone.

When will the redundancy site sister site be ready?

I am currently working on this and as you can imagine, there is a lot of work to be done to check the legal details of licenses and various bits and pieces, so if you want to be kept upto date with progress, put your email address in the box to the right and you will get an update when the redundancy site has been updates plus I will personally email you some freebies to be going on with.

Keep upto date with the redundancy site now and speak via this again very soon.

Is there life after redundancy?

One of the many things we face in the current economic climate is the fear of redundancy, and this is made so much worse if you are slightly older, say beyond 50, and it can feel like your world is going to come crashing in.

Why me?

Now for some, those words don’t hold the fear that they do for most of us if they have the big, fat payoff that can make life so much easier, but the vast majority of us just don’t get the life changing sums from our redundancy to feel like this, and this is where this site comes in.

You see, in November 2010, I heard the dreaded words “you are facing redundancy”, after the best part of 20 years working for a blue chip company and thinking I had a job for life (you can read more about my work life on the about me page).

Now, don’t get me wrong, I was 50 years old and had worked in the IT industry for a long time so I thought it would be pretty easy to get another job, but that all changes after 1 interview.

Part of my redundancy package was a retraining grant which allowed me to train in another discipline to further my career prospects, and the IT industry being what it is, I decided to stay within that but just go down a slightly different, less technical path, and when you consider that my job within the IT industry was data warehousing and trend analysis, which is incredibly hard core, this seemed a sensible thing to do.

I managed to book myself on this course for March 2011 and duly attended and passed the final exams and ended up being able to give myself a fancy title, but on that course I met 2 people who worked for a company that was in the process of changing its internal methods and they said I would be a perfect fit for their company so would I be interested in going for an interview.

How could I refuse, it looked as though all of my Xmas’s had come at once.

To cut a long story short, I turned up for the interview to be met by someone who was as old as my son and questioned for 90 minutes about how I would take the company forward if I had the opportunity, which sounds great in theory and the opportunity of a lifetime, but the reality is that I had gone in to be interviewed about a job that nobody could tell me the responsibilities or tasks that I would need to carry out, where I would actually be based or what the salary and package was.

A few drinks helps.

All in all, I came out more confused after the interview than when I had gone in.

This scared me in the fact that not only are individuals feeling threatened, but businesses are feeling this way as well and the last thing I wanted was to start a new job as one thing, it changes and goes in a different direction after a while and then I find myself back in the same situation 6 months down the road when nobody still has a clue what is going on and me facing redundancy again, and this to me was like someone switching the light on, but this also brought another question to mind.

How to use redundancy to my advantage?

When you speak to anyone about what they really wanted from life and have you gone some way towards achieving this, most people will respond with “I wanted a nice house with no mortgage and the time to enjoy this”.

The key word in there is “time” and after redundancy, this is something you will find you have plenty of, but what do you do with it.

This is where it gets really interesting because you can either spiral down into a pit of despair and feel like the world is against you or you can do something about getting what you always wanted, and believe me, it is out there if you look for it hard enough and want it badly enough.

Let redundancy be my friend.

How many times have you been asked by your partner, when you were working, to go away for a few days or go somewhere nice for a week, you can afford it financially but the time is the issue, well now, the thing has turned full circle where time is not the issue but I am looking after the bit of payoff because I don’t know when my next pay will come in.

Wouldn’t it be nice to do something with all this time that you have on your hands that would make the response to the question from your partner be yes without worrying about time or money and your redundancy may give you that opportunity?

If you are reading this blog now, believe me, you almost have all of the tools that you need to make that a reality.

Now I will be upfront about this and say it will not be for everyone.

There are certain things that you have to get in place before we can go any further, but they are all about attitude and mindset, and you will need a small amount of money, but this won’t be a problem because we will have the correct attitude.

Lets look at some numbers before we go any further.

Over 30% of the world population use the internet, that’s over 2 billion people and the number is growing every year.

In America and some parts of Europe, that percentage is nearer to 80%

Mobile internet usage on smartphones etc. is growing faster than the desktop and laptop usage ever did and giving people who never had access an entry point into the internet.

Revenues on the internet are going through the roof with almost $100 billion spent on internet advertising in America alone.

As you can see from the eye watering numbers above, this is a serious business, and this leads me nicely to the first part of the mindset equation, your attitude and approach.

If you are serious about trying to make money online, and I used the word trying advisedly, you have to treat this as a full time business not a part time hobby.

Too many people fall into the trap of treating this as a hobby and if you ask some of the biggest marketers in the internet industry today what they wish they could have had at the start, one of the things they will always say is more time to devote to their internet business, but hey, we’re redundant so we have all the time in the world, but that doesn’t mean we want to spend it slaving over a keyboard, we want to enjoy some of it, and the more the better.

The second part of the mindset equation comes from being proud of what you are doing and telling people you are going to set yourself up as an internet marketer.

Your family will try to tell you that it is wrong and not the right type of business to get into at your age, in your position etc., but that is the beauty of the internet, you can be as anonymous as you like, nobody needs to know you are sixty or only sixteen unless you want them to know, but honesty is by far the best policy so don’t be too shy.

The third and most crucial part of the mindset equation is don’t be too proud to ask about how something is done or why something is done as the only stupid question is the unasked question, but be careful who you ask the question of.

There are thousands of internet marketing “gurus” out there who want you to join their mailing lists so you can join their courses or become part of their mentoring group.

That’s fine and you should have someone with whom you can share your concerns with but you are not ready for the “gurus” yet.

Is redundancy my friend yet?

Have you decided what you want to do with your redundancy yet, because if you have got this far, I’m assuming you want to learn more.

You see, over the last few months, I have searched high and low for the “Golden Opportunity” and spent a small fortune trying to find it, but do you know what, it doesn’t exist.

If you are trying to find a job for life then it is staring you in the face but you just don’t know it yet.

The sun is rising

There is no quick fix you can use to be banking $xxxxx next month because if that were the case, everyone would be doing it and the reality is that only 5% of people who set out on an internet marketing career actually succeed and what I want to do is give you the best opportunity of being on of the 5%.

I don’t say this as a “guru” because I’m not one and will never profess to be one, but what I am is just someone who tried the internet, liked it and spent a fortune trying to succeed.

What I want to do is put all of the resource you need into one place and stop you from wasting your money as I did.

I’ve bought turnkey websites, built for you websites, training course after training course and you know what, the only thing that makes money is taking action with what you have.

Now for the surprising bit, it needn’t cost a fortune if you don’t fall into the traps I have fallen into.

If you are prepared to work “smart”, you will find it is easy to do this and create the job for life you want with the time to enjoy the fruits of your reward.

Over the coming days and weeks, I will be developing the redundancy website to allow you to build a sustainable business.

Redundancy isn’t as bad as all that.

If you want to stay informed when there are any changes on the redundancy website, please enter you name and email address into the subscription box and I will mail when anything happens and I will also give you a couple of bonuses for subscribing, totally free.
